Welcome
to the brand new Rub It In website! We hope that this site will be a useful source of facts and information about sun protection.

Rub It In is dedicated to stamping out VAT on Sun Lotion. The UK currently classifies Sun Lotion as a cosmetic, and as such it is subject to VAT. Sun Lotion is much more than a cosmetic – it is one of our best defences against skin cancer. Rub It In believes that Sun Lotion is a medical necessity and should therefore be exempt from VAT.

If, like us, you believe that there should be no VAT on Sun Lotion, please take a second to show your support by signing our petition – simply click on the petition button. We will be sending the petition to Patricia Hewitt, the UK Health Minister.

Further still, Rub It In is campaigning to get serious with standards. As Sun Lotion is currently classified as a cosmetic, it is not subject to any stringent tests of efficacy before it is sold and used. This is potentially very dangerous, as some Sun Lotions have been proven to contain far less SPF than the label claims. Rub It In is proud to be sponsored by Delph Sun Lotion – one of the few brands available in the UK that has passed medical standard tests and is listed on the Drug Tariff.
